Was briefly held up with 2d being unaware of the local word, but the rest of the anwers went in faster. The puzzle was as good as ever.
Hi David. Thanks again for another great Stickler. May I be so bold as to make a suggestion though? Can you toughen them up a little? It seems that they are still at the same difficulty that they were when they were published every day, when people had an hour or so on the train to work or during their lunch break to solve them. We now have a whole week to mull over them and whilst I’m not suggesting you put on David Astle’s hat and make insanely difficult cryptics 🙂 it would be nice (I’m not sure that is an appropriate word, sounds a tad masochistic) to work a little harder.
I would be interested if any other subscribers felt the same way or am I just a glutton for punishment!!
