WHOO! HOO! Wednesday again.
Did I detect a slight raising of the bar last week, David?
Hi David
Reflecting while doing the dishes (as you do!)
Probably all time record this week, complete by sun-down yesterday.
However, all very well to be becoming more proficient in the cryptic lexicon,
but if an extensive vocabulary had not been gathered over the years,
I would never be able to cut it……. Life long love of English here.
Few examples from last week spring to mind – incumbent – nihilist – prevaricate….
’til next time – Richard
Tougher than #80, as I expected.
2dn was especially nasty. I worked out the answer from the wordplay, two of the cross letters and a dictionary — but I needed Ms Google’s help to fully understand the definition. I doubt that many solvers will get this one without help. A tricky, clever clue.
There were plenty of other amusing clues in a very enjoyable crossword: 1ac, 6ac, 10ac, 21ac, 25ac, 26ac, 28ac and 3dn.
